says ProdigalSon on Jun 19th 17 (#2593830)
Rock I'd say. I do like a lot of pop. Really, the genre I favor depends heavily on my mood and circumstances at any given time. The only one I generally can not stand is country. It reminds me of racism.
says Trish on Jun 19th 17 (#2593923)
Ugh, I was going to give you a thumbs up for your taste in music... til I got to the end of reading your post with you ignorantly stating that Country music reminds you of racism, smh. Can you even name one Country song that invokes racism in their lyrics?
If anything, today's "pop" Rap music could incite racism/cause a fight because of the lyrics to those "artists" songs that are filled with the N word...where white kids naively sing along to the lyrics of those popular songs, thinking there's nothing wrong with saying the N word because the N word is in the song's lyrics!!!!
My teenage son and his friends listen to that crap and I have to CONSTANTLY remind my son that he CAN NOT say that word even if it's in the lyrics to those songs!!
So what Country songs have you listened to that make you think of racism???????
says Gronk17 on Jun 20th 17 (#2594208)
Southern culture in general.
says Trish on Jun 20th 17 (#2594224)
That is just so wrong for you to generalize the Southern culture/Country music as being racist. I was born, raised and still live in the Northeast ....therefore I KNOW for a fact as a NORTHERNER that there are SO MANY/TOO MANY "progressive" Democrats and "leaders" in my state who deem minorities AS being unable to be educated, not able to hold a steady job and beneath THEM as their Democrat masters...thus the Democrats in my NORTHERN liberal state INDOCTRINATING minorities in my state to feel/believe that they NEED the government(the Democrat party in my state) to take care of them from their cradle to their graves.
Yet sadly you NAIVELY believe that racism only exists in the South, smh.
says Gronk17 on Jun 20th 17 (#2594244)
that's certainly one way to see things.
says Trish on Jun 20th 17 (#2594245)
It's not one way to see things...it's the actual REALITY for minorities living in blue states who keep naively voting for Democrats in their districts "hoping" for "change"...that only results in their Democrat politicians getting rich while they as minorities continually all live equally poor getting government handouts to keep them voting Democrat.
says Gronk17 on Jun 20th 17 (#2594246)
your perception is not reality. Thanks for sharing though.
says Trish on Jun 21st 17 (#2594627)
Actually my perception IS reality because I live in a city in a Blue state. In my city, the Teacher's union/school board overwhelming voted to no longer have a SUCCESSFUL Charter School in our city that ACTUALLY benefited minority children whose parents APPLIED for their children to attend that Charter school, their reasoning being that the school "discriminated" against minorities from attending that Charter school because there was too many white children attending that Charter School where it was intended for minorities...where a parent has to APPLY for their child to go to that Charter school, eh but because not enough minority parents were applying(taking the time) to fill out the application or look into enrolling their minority children to go to a better Elementary School, the Teacher Union and school board voted to get rid of that SUCCESSFUL Charter School...that all my children have attended and "graduated" as A students, as well as the minority children being A students because their parents wanted their children to attend that Charter School.
Nope now all the K-5 kids in my city will be equally dumbed down/educated in my city because not enough minority parents applied for their children to attend that SUCCESSFUL Charter school, smh.
