Creatures on this Planet sometimes seem quite Alien. (+14)

Meet the Pompeii Worm (Alvinella pompejana). Around 12.5cm (~5in) in length, these animals exist at the bottom of the ocean near hydrothermal vents and can tolerate temperatures up to 60C (140F). There is no light, and the pressure can be up to 250 atmospheres, or 1.8 tons per square inch. No wonder they look so strange.

Oh I don't like the looks of that worm. Gladly it will never be in any water I know of. When digging clams in Maine you see some ugly prickly foot long red worms in the mud. But they can't get you because you are wearing rubber boots and gloves. I haven't been clam digging since I was a teen but it was so gross we dug clams took them to camp a clean lake and jumped in the lake to wash off all the mud on us and the clams too. Then put the clams into a pail of corn meal so they eat that and all the mud comes out of their tummies.

I really think there’re a lot of alien looking microbes and parasites, under the microscope.
For instance, a tapeworm.
