I would have to agree with your statement, Will. Seems like "life hacks" is just another way of basically putting it.
A strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one's time and daily activities in a more efficient way.

Necessity is the mother of invention...and generally men are about productivity...
With some things you can be both the mother and father...like coming up with a way of distilling water to make brandy...and then using something like a kitchen utensil that will finesse the procedure... The kitchen utensil usage would be the Life hack...the necessity being I want some cheap brandy...
