How would you rate your driving skills?
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#819141)
Excellent. I have a 100% clear record. Never had an accident, never had a ticket, never been pulled over for any violation. And I've been driving a long time.
says StarzAbove on Apr 14th 18 (#2746127)
Great! I’m not a good driver. Going reverse is Herculean to me.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#2746197)
Maybe you'll improve with time. Never give up.
says StarzAbove on Apr 14th 18 (#2746198)
I tend to have an issue with speed....and stopping...and a few other things. I don't drive often and when I am with someone it is really for the best that I am the passenger. Screaming passengers are really distracting.
says Lil_Princess on Apr 14th 18 (#2746148)
I learnt driving a few months back, and I’m still uncomfortable talking to a passenger unless the road is clear, of course.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#2746191)
Nothing wrong with that. You are staying focused and that is a great thing.
says Lil_Princess on Apr 14th 18 (#2746194)
Ive never caused an accident. Been the victim of poor drivers, though.
Never had a ticket either. And...i can drive just about anything.
says Carla on Apr 14th 18 (#2746163)
Great! I’ve almost hit a car once. 😔
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#2746195)
says Carla on Apr 14th 18 (#2746200)
Driving skills based on DMV? or a skilled diver? Two different things.
says SynysterGates on Apr 14th 18 (#2746202)
Shouldn’t be different, ideally. 🙁In my country, we’re only required to drive an 8 around poles and reverse to the start.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#2746254)
Just because one has a clean driving record, no speeding tickets or accidents doesn't make them a skilled driver. It may make then a good driver, that are lucky. Can't avoid accidents when they aren't your fault.
A skilled driver should be able to handle many situations. Example: various weather conditions (including snow, black ice etc), maneuver around objects while maintaining the same speed, and much more.
Go race stock cars and you'll see some skilled drivers.
says SynysterGates on Apr 14th 18 (#2746282)
My dad has had two accidents; one when my dad was waiting at the red light and a truck came speeding at the back and hit his car and the other was when a little boy suddenly came running into the road and the car turned and hit a wall. He has been pulled over for speeding twice. However, he’s driven through very difficult roads and taught most members of my family driving.
I can admit that my dad is somewhat pugnacious at times, but I think he’s a good driver.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746503)
I reckon I do just fine! Only had one ticket in my whole life. I'm a little aggressive but safe!
says Rooster on Apr 14th 18 (#2746217)
That’s my dad.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#2746256)
I drive too fast. Bad habit.
says Tiffanee on Apr 14th 18 (#2746225)
I use to many years ago, more than one would think. I now follow the speed limit.
says SynysterGates on Apr 14th 18 (#2746228)
Also I think driving in India is a little more difficult than other countries.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 14th 18 (#2746260)
I’m not that bad of a driver. I mean, I’ve never seen a passenger openly praying for their safety or anything like that....
says Tiffanee on Apr 14th 18 (#2746289)
I have to pray for my safety when my dad’s driving. He’s really fast and aggressive
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746456)
I don't drive often, my grandpa taught me how and I do drive his car when I go to my hometown to maintain the skills.
says Sunny_the_skeptic on Apr 14th 18 (#2746295)
Nothing wrong with my driving skills.
There's too many slow drivers getting in my way..
says DandyDon on Apr 14th 18 (#2746322)
They’re really annoying. I hate getting stuck behind a slow driver, esp. when they’re on their phone.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746457)
Yea, or they pull out in front of you, making you have to slam the brakes because there's usually traffic in the other lane and you can't pass them.
says DandyDon on Apr 15th 18 (#2746461)
Story of my life. The worst part of the cities here is that people never wait at a particular bus stop. They just stand on the banks of the road and stop a bus wherever they like, and do so every once in 5 minutes; and that’s why I always stay away from buses. They’ll literally stop anywhere.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746500)
I can understand that.
Once I get going, I hate to stop.
says DandyDon on Apr 15th 18 (#2746631)
Very comfortable behind the wheel. Having grown up on a farm, I can drive pretty much anything pretty well.
says Freeranger on Apr 14th 18 (#2746348)
I put about 35 - 40k miles per year. Not as much as over the road drivers but enough to keep busy. 😊
says Will_Janitor on Apr 15th 18 (#2746409)
I've logged a little over 4 million miles, many of them on Los Angeles Freeways. No accidents, but I've been caught using the HOV lane or shoulder to get around pokey out of town drivers. Haven't had a speeding ticket in a few years, but I'm probably due soon.
says Flrdsgns on Apr 15th 18 (#2746450)
Looks like you’re either usually in a hurry or enjoy overtaking.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746507)
Always in a hurry, freeways were meant to be driven at 80 mph or more
says Flrdsgns on Apr 15th 18 (#2746659)
I'm a good driver and professionally trained but as I get older, I've found I don't see as well at night as I used to so am more cautious when I drive at night. I've only had 2 tickets in 48 years. One for 75 in a 65 and one for 155 in a 55. That one was expensive.
says JustJimColo on Apr 15th 18 (#2746505)
155 in a 55 zone
Did you get your eyes checked for the problem you’re facing?
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746508)
It's common for people to lose some of their night vision as they get older. Can't fight time..<s>
Who would have thought there would be a speed trap just outside Winslow Arizona?
says JustJimColo on Apr 15th 18 (#2746512)
Non-existent-but watch me on the dodgems!
says Blewynanifail on Apr 15th 18 (#2746511)
Dodgems were fun. It’d be so much better if real traffic was like dogems.
It’s been so long since I’ve been to a fair or an amusement park..Those days were great!
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746520)
The only skill that matters is avoiding situations where you need skill.
Example: the airport has lots of places where drivers have to decide to go this way or that, and many drivers don't wake up until they get to where they have to change lanes violently. So you should avoid being side by side with another vehicle as you approach those places.
Example: If there are two left turn lanes, the drivers in the right lane drive as if it were the only lane, so don't get side by side with another vehicle in that situation, because you will get your fender bent.
says that_guy on Apr 15th 18 (#2746697)
I get it. It might not always be possible to avoid demanding situations, but I know it definitely is, at times. I’ve been through situations where I could’ve avoided a lot of maneuvers by being a little more sensible, which I’m not. I’m an insensible driver. -.-
says ZaraZooper on Apr 15th 18 (#2746723)
Thank you genetics!
says Masha on Apr 15th 18 (#2746733)
Genetics dowsn’t let you drive?
says ZaraZooper on Apr 16th 18 (#2746875)
I have nervous tics in addition to impaired gross motor skills, both genetically linked.
says Masha on Apr 16th 18 (#2746901)
I know one of my teachers who doesn’t drive because only he’s too scared to be in charge of the wheel. I’m Sorry. I thought you had similar issues.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 16th 18 (#2746936)
I have the need for speed and I don't tolerate **** drivers....
I get to where I need to go...god I love driving! Got a ticket last labor day weekend, left work was going 5 miles over the speed limit, fukin cop pulled me over....told him I wasn't thanking him for the ticket but did tell him to stay safe..talk about shocking a cop the look on his face was priceless...I just paid the ticket off....they were going to just have to wait for my money....
says symplycurious on Apr 15th 18 (#2746745)
You have nerve. If a cop ever pulled me over, I’d have a chill going down my back.
says ZaraZooper on Apr 16th 18 (#2746876)
But I cut too many corners... and I'm too impatient with Sunday drivers IN MY WAY!
